Singapore date-line 6 to 9 April 2026

Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) organised the School Leaders’ Global Learning and Partnership Mission to Singapore from 6–9 April 2026, bringing together 19 distinguished school leaders, educators, and industry representatives from across India. The mission was designed to provide immersive exposure to Singapore’s globally benchmarked education ecosystem and understand how high-performing systems are built through strong alignment between pedagogy, teacher development, governance, leadership, and innovation.

The programme included visits to premier institutions such as the National Institute of Education (NIE), Institute of Mental Health (IMH), Princess Elizabeth Primary School, XCL World Academy, One World International School (OWIS), NUS High School of Mathematics & Science, and Global Indian International School (GIIS), SMART Campus. The delegation also visited the TCS AI Research & Innovation Centre and participated in an interactive session on Singapore’s education and skilling ecosystem hosted by SpeakIN. These engagements provided valuable insights into inquiry-led learning, teacher education, student wellbeing, technology-enabled pedagogy, and future-ready school systems.

A major highlight of the mission was the interaction with Ms Pooja Tillu, Deputy High Commissioner of India to Singapore, focusing on India–Singapore collaboration in education and skill development. The delegation also interacted with Mr Mohammed Irshad, Former Member of Parliament, Singapore, gaining perspectives on governance frameworks, accountability, and lifelong learning systems. At NIE, delegates gained exposure to the TE²¹ framework anchored in V³SK (Values, Skills, and Knowledge), which emphasises holistic teacher development and continuous professional learning.

The mission reinforced the importance of building education systems that are coherent, future-oriented, and system-driven. Key learnings included the centrality of teacher quality, integration of wellbeing within education, inquiry-based learning, and the role of technology as an enabler of learning. Overall, the delegation provided a valuable platform for reflection, global benchmarking, and knowledge exchange, offering meaningful insights to support innovation and reform within India’s school education ecosystem.
