CII lays an equally strong focus on school and early childhood education. CII Education Council comprises members from industry, academia and government bodies. The Council not only provides strong and high-quality policy inputs, but also creates pilots to prove the efficacy of initiatives on the ground.

The last couple of years have been fraught with sufferings-both physical and mental. The education sector has been probably one of the most affected with educational institutions shut down for full academic years and beyond.

The spotlight now is on steps to normalise the Education ecosystem as quickly as possible with minimum compromises. Also, it needed to step up efforts to prepare our future generations for building a nation ready to undertake rapid advancements and challenges of technology. We must rapidly move towards becoming a knowledge economy with high quality manpower.

The Education Council 2021 constituted six taskforces across school and higher education to focus on key areas such as early childhood education, capacity building of teachers, holistic learning, mental health, technology, assessments, industry- academia partnerships, future skills, employability, commercialisation of research and entrepreneurship.

To highlight the key points in the above areas and discuss the way forward, CII is organising the 11th edition of CII Education Summit on 21-22 October on digital platform. The Summit will also highlight the changes that have been necessitated during the year, in curriculum, pedagogy, assessment, reimagining education spaces and capacity building of teachers. The 10th edition of ASHE (Annual Status of Higher Education in States will be released.

Background

The last couple of years have been fraught with sufferings-both physical and mental. The education sector has been probably one of the most affected with educational institutions shut down for full academic years and beyond. Final assessments were compromised upon, dates were pushed, and students had to deal with lots of uncertainty and many anxious moments. Higher education decisions needed to be put on hold for many.

The spotlight is on steps to normalise the Education ecosystem as quickly as possible with minimum compromises. Also, we need to step up our efforts to prepare our future generations for building a nation ready to undertake rapid advancements and challenges of technology.
