CII Roundtable on Mental Health - Imperatives for Indian Educators

Mental health is a state of mental well-being that enables people to cope with the stresses of life, realize their abilities, learn and work well and contribute to their community. It is an integral component of health and well-being that underpins our individual and collective abilities to make decisions, build relationships and shape the world we live in. The teachers play a crucial role in student’s life. They also face numerous challenges that can deeply impact their mental wellbeing. To address these challenges, it’s crucial to prioritize teacher’s mental health through a comprehensive approach.

In this context, CII organised a Round Table on Mental Health- – Imperatives for Indian Educators on 19 April 2024 in New Delhi. The discussant in the Round Table includes Senior Government Officials, Dr Daniel Fung, CEO, Institute of Mental Health, Singapore Experts, Practitioners in the area of Mental Health etc.

Highlights of the event included launch of a Short Survey & Analysis of Mental Health Challenges Among Educators in Schools in NCR Region by Mr Anandrao V Patil, Additional Secretary, Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Education, Government of India.
