CII School Leaders Global Learning & Partnership Mission to Switzerland

Switzerland date-line 13 to 17 June 2025

The CII School Leaders Delegation to Switzerland was organised to provide Indian school leaders with meaningful exposure to global best practices in school education. The main objective of the visit was to study internationally benchmarked approaches in curriculum design, pedagogy, school infrastructure, and values-based education. The aim was to gather insights that could support the transformation of Indian schools in line with the goals of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the evolving National Curriculum Framework (NCF).

The delegation consisting of owners and principals of leading private schools across India, visited Ecolint: The International School of Geneva, Institut Florimont, EHL Hospitality Business School, Lausanne, Collège Alpin Beau Soleil, and Aiglon College where they interacted with school leadership teams, observed classroom practices, and explored campus facilities. The delegation also attended sessions at the Global Learning Conference 2025, which brought together education leaders, researchers, and practitioners from around the world to discuss emerging trends and innovations in school education.

The delegation offered valuable insights into how schools can foster academic excellence along with character development, creativity, and critical thinking. Schools visited by the delegation demonstrated strong alignment between curriculum, pedagogy, and student well-being, with a strong emphasis on intercultural learning, sustainability, and global citizenship. Exposure to innovative classroom designs, teacher autonomy, collaborative learning models, and technology integration highlighted practical approaches that could inform future improvements in Indian schools. Delegates also noted the importance of school leadership in building a shared vision and driving change through inclusive practices and continuous professional development. These insights offered a compelling blueprint for adapting global practices within the Indian school system.

CII intends to build on this successful initiative by facilitating similar global learning missions in the future. These programmes aim to strengthen the capacity of Indian school leaders and educators to drive meaningful change and innovation in education, contributing to the vision of building future-ready schools across the country.
