CII School Education

The School Education Division under the Education Department of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of school education in India. Positioned at the intersection of government, industry, and civil society, the division strives to bridge policy with practice by fostering dialogue, innovation, and collaboration among key stakeholders in the school education ecosystem.

Our work spans across policy research, advocacy, and multi-stakeholder engagement, with a commitment to supporting the effective implementation of transformative frameworks like the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. We act as a catalyst in influencing education reforms by generating evidence-based insights, enabling public-private partnerships, and amplifying voices from schools, educators, policymakers, and the private sector.

Through a series of national-level summits, roundtables, workshops, and on-ground programs, the division provides platforms for discussion, knowledge exchange, and capacity building. Our initiatives focus on key priorities such as future-readiness of schools, teacher empowerment, technology integration, vocational and skill education, and holistic student assessment, ensuring alignment with Viksit Bharat 2047 and global education trends.

Some of our recent initiatives include the CII National School Education Summit, an annual flagship event that brings together policymakers, school leaders, and industry experts to deliberate on emerging themes and reforms. We have also partnered with NCERT-PARAKH to organize capacity-building workshops for educators on the implementation of Holistic Progress Cards. Through Exposure Visits for Principals of CBSE-affiliated schools, we are facilitating linkages with institutions of excellence to integrate skill education and promote institutional collaboration. Our student-facing initiatives such as the Inter-School Quiz on Environment & Sustainability inspire young learners to think critically and creatively about the future. As part of our global engagement efforts, we organised the School Leaders Delegation to Switzerland, offering Indian educators valuable exposure to international best practices in curriculum design, pedagogy, and school leadership.
